About the Projects
The FIO Wallet is a cloud based non-custodial wallet offered as a subscription service. Hardware wallets on servers are the infrastructure, where a cloud wallet is spun up when a user enters their email for single sing on registration. Wallets are then created on the current native supported chains which are all EVM compatible, Solana, and EOS (fio, wax, etc). A FIO handle maps to those chains public addresses on the games chosen domain (mel@shrapnel, or flav@bga, gamer@callofduty, etc.) This handle serves as both a DiD as well as an easy and memorable way to send and receive digital assets on the supported blockchains of the FIO wallet, but also any blockchain supported in any of our partners products, or any on the fio dashboard. FIO is blockchain agnostic. The branding opportunities for web3 games to promote their game at their games domain is a huge plus, as players will often use these web3 handles across various titles.
The FIO wallet is a huge cost saving opportunity to game developers as it eliminates the need to develop their own in-house wallet or smart contract solution, savings thousands of dollars and months of development time. It also reduces friction for the user, as it prevents the need for them to connect to a 3rd party solution like metamask or wallet connect. Zero friction is the key to mass adoption. In the case of FIO wallet, the developer simply hooks into the back end api and can develop their in-game wallet experience as their UI/UX designers see fit. The users don’t even have to know their using a wallet, they just “log into their account.” Users will be much more familiar with this process as it mimics their current web2 like experience.
We’ll showcase the capabilities of ChainSafe’s web3.unity SDK through Germ Blaster, a game crafted by our game devs. Germ Blaster seamlessly combines web2 and web3 gaming dynamics, illustrating the smooth integration of blockchain processes within classic gaming structures. Developers will appreciate the transparent, annotated source codes, highlighting the effortless SDK integration and the elegance with which web2 mechanics mask complex backend transactions and calls.
