Frédéric Chesnais is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Atari. Atari is a global cross-platform licensor and interactive entertainment Group. Pioneer in video games, founded in 1972, Atari owns and/or manages a portfolio of more than 200 games and franchises, including world famous brands like Asteroids®, Centipede®, Missile Command®, Pong®, and RollerCoaster Tycoon®. Under Mr. Chesnais’s leadership, Atari continues to publish interactive games and expand the Atari brand into different business verticals such as casinos, entertainment, and decentralized platforms.

During this interview, Frédéric will share his background and story on how he came to video games, how he has been able to keep growing Atari over the years into entertainment industry and where he sees blockchain can impact the future of gaming. He will also tell us about his vision for Atari Tokens and his recent partnerships with virtual world gaming platform The Sandbox and wallet and blockchain apps building solution Arkane Network (both BGA members companies). You can also submit in advance your questions for him to answer.

About Frédéric Chesnais and Atari

Frédéric Chesnais is the largest shareholder and Chief Executive Officer of Atari, the iconic video game company. Chesnais left the Atari Group in 2007 and came back early 2013. He was previously COO and CFO of the Atari Group from 2001–2004 and CEO of Atari Interactive until 2007. When Chesnais left Atari in 2007, he created the company I2G which produced the hit franchise Jillian Michaels: Fitness Ultimatum for the Nintendo Wii and an online survival multiplayer, among many other games. Chesnais returned to Atari early 2013 to re-boot the brand and expand the Atari brand using Atari’s global portfolio of properties.

Atari has since launched multiple new games across various platforms including the smash-hit mobile app RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch. Beyond gaming, Chesnais is expanding the Atari brand into different business verticals such as online casinos, entertainment, and blockchain technology. Chesnais previously worked at Lazard Frères, the top investment bank, and is also a lawyer in France. He is based in New York City. The Atari group is listed in Paris and affiliated with Nasdaq International. Atari has offices in New York City and Paris.
